Something not working? Tell us.
Last updated: October 8, 2026. We want everyone in Oxford and Lafayette County to be able to use this site, read our guides and reach us, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. That is our goal, not a claim of full conformance. This site has not had an independent accessibility audit.
What we have done
- Pages use one main heading and a logical order of section headings, so screen reader users can move through them by heading.
- Text is real text, not pictures of text, and can be zoomed or resized in the browser.
- Text and button colors were checked against the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5 to 1 for normal text. In October 2026 we darkened our orange accent and gray text where they fell short.
- Form fields on the callback form have visible labels.
- Links and buttons show a visible outline when you move through the page with a keyboard.
- The main menu is labeled for assistive technology.
- Pages are built to work on phones as well as desktops, without sideways scrolling of the page itself.
- Our phone number appears as text and as a tap-to-call link, so you never need the form to reach us.
How we test
We check pages with axe-core, an open-source automated accessibility checker, against the WCAG A and AA rules, and we review pages at desktop and phone widths. Our latest check, in October 2026, found no automated issues on the pages tested after the contrast fixes above. Automated tools catch only some kinds of problems, so we also welcome reports from people who use the site.
Known limits
- The map on each page is an embedded Google Map from a third party, and we cannot control how accessible it is. Our street address, city and a directions link are always shown as plain text beside it.
- Some comparison tables are wide. On a small screen the table itself scrolls sideways so the columns stay readable.
- Links to outside sources, such as university extension services and government sites, lead to pages we do not control.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another way, please tell us. Call the number at the top of this page, or use the contact page. It helps to tell us which page you were on and what went wrong. We will work to fix it, and in the meantime we are happy to give you the information over the phone.
